Refined copper new capacity to maintain high growth rate in 2022
For the whole year of 2021, domestic refined copper production will total 10.487 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%.
With the relief of the domestic energy crisis and the recovery of copper concentrate processing fees to a moderate level, it is expected that the domestic refined copper production will likely increase gradually in the future. According to SMM statistics, in 2022, my country's refined copper newly expanded capacity is 1.08 million tons, mainly due to Daye Nonferrous's planned new expansion capacity of 400,000 tons, Zhongtiaoshan Nonferrous Metals Group Co., Ltd.'s planned new expansion capacity of 180,000 tons, Anhui Youjinguan Huaxin Materials Technology Co., Ltd. plans to expand its capacity by 150,000 tons, Xinjiang Wuxin Copper plans to expand its capacity by 100,000 tons, and Jiangxi Copper (600362) (Qingyuan) Co., Ltd. plans to expand its capacity by 100,000 tons. From the statistical data, my country's refined copper smelting capacity will maintain a high growth rate in 2022.
